THE SPIDEY SENSE FIELD GUIDE

v0.1.0 betaDesktop Chrome & Edge · Solana

Start a crawl, follow an address, understand the context. Here's how your little research companion works.

01 / Your first crawl.

Spidey Sense is a browser overlay for Solana research. The beta scans pages you choose, connects repeated mentions and looks up public market data when you ask.

  1. Download and unzip. Keep the extracted spidey-sense-extension folder somewhere permanent.
  2. Load your spider. Open chrome://extensions or edge://extensions, enable Developer mode, choose Load unpacked and select the folder containing manifest.json.
  3. Pin and activate. On a normal webpage, click the Spidey Sense toolbar icon, then Start on this page.
  4. Follow a clue. Choose Check market on a full address, or Save to keep it in your watchlist.

No account, wallet connection or API key is needed. Activate Spidey again on new tabs and after page reloads. See the full installation guide for more detail.

02 / A clue isn't a conclusion.

Full Solana addresses
Spidey looks for correctly formatted address candidates in visible text. An address may belong to a token, wallet or another account; recognition alone doesn't identify what it is.
Token and pool links
Supported Solana link formats include DEX Screener, Solscan, pump.fun, Birdeye and Jupiter token pages. Pool addresses stay separate from token addresses.
Ticker mentions
A mention such as $SOL is a text clue. Tickers are never automatically matched to a token address. Different tokens can use the same ticker.
Webs and cross-page sightings
Web lines join repeated exact matches. During a browser session, Spidey remembers where an address or ticker appeared on pages you activated. A matching mention does not establish a funding link or common wallet owner.

The current boundary: Spidey reads visible page text and supported links. It skips forms and editable fields, and cannot read text inside images, canvas charts, iframes or closed shadow roots.

03 / Put the market in context.

Check market requests public DEX Screener data for the selected address. For a token, Spidey shows the most liquid indexed Solana pool where it is the base token. A pool link looks up that specific pool.

Results can include price, liquidity, volume, price changes and buy/sell transaction counts. Lookups use a 60-second cache. Missing data stays unknown.

ObservationWhat triggers it
Thin liquidityPool liquidity below $25,000.
New poolPool age below 24 hours. This is not necessarily the token's age.
Large price moveA price change of at least 20% in either direction over one hour.
More sell transactionsAt least 10 sells, and more than twice as many sells as buys, over one hour. Counts do not measure trade size.

These are fixed observations, not AI analysis or a token safety score. The beta does not check contract permissions, holder concentration or wallet funding links, and does not execute trades.

04 / Your spider. Your controls.

Save & watchlist
Keep up to 100 full addresses on this device. Tickers alone cannot be saved as an address. The beta watchlist does not run background alerts.
Pause, minimize & stop
Pause the crawl or minimize the panel when you need space. Use × to stop scanning and remove the overlay from the current page.
Motion settings
Turn spider motion off in extension settings for a calmer research session.
Clear your data
The settings control clears the watchlist, session trails and market cache. Close active overlays to discard their in-memory results; starting another scan can create new sightings.

05 / A small footprint.

Page scanning happens locally after you activate it. The current beta has no account system, analytics backend or AI provider. It does not send page text to an external service.

  • Session trails: up to 150 entities and six source pages per entity, including page titles and paths. URL query strings and fragments are stripped. Trails disappear when the browser session ends.
  • Device storage: your watchlist and motion preference stay in local extension storage.
  • Market requests: clicking Check market sends the selected public address to DEX Screener. That provider receives normal network information, including your IP address.

The extension requests temporary active-tab access, script injection and storage permissions, plus access to the DEX Screener API. It does not request cookies, browser history, wallet keys or signing permissions.

Read the full beta privacy notes. Any future Plus intelligence data sharing will need a separate, explicit opt-in.

06 / Caught on something?

The spider isn't appearing.

Open a normal http or https webpage, pin the extension and choose Start on this page. Browser settings and protected pages cannot be scanned. After reloading a tab, activate Spidey again.

Spidey can't find a token.

Use a visible, full Solana address or a supported token link. Shortened addresses and text in screenshots are not enough. A ticker alone is not a verified token identity.

The market lookup has no result.

The address may be a wallet or another account, or the provider may not index a suitable base-token pool. If you see a timeout or rate-limit message, wait and retry. No result is not a safety verdict.

How do I update the beta?

Extract the next release into your existing extension folder, click Reload on the browser's extensions page, then refresh affected tabs. Unpacked beta installations do not update automatically.

Can I use mobile or Firefox?

This package targets desktop Chrome and Edge. Mobile and Firefox builds are not included. Managed work or school browsers may restrict Developer mode.

07 / A smarter spider is planned.

Extension V2 will introduce SpideySense Plus intelligence: opt-in, source-linked explanations that bring your page clues and market context together. Paid subscription tiers are planned to unlock through burning the Spidey token.

Plus intelligence, subscription activation and token burning are not in the current beta. Feature limits, burn amounts and access periods will be published before launch.
